  • Apostle Nyamekye calls for sound work ethics in Zoomlion Kenya

    Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye has urged staff and management of Zoomlion Ghana Limited in Kenya to uphold competence, integrity, and faithfulness as the company expands its operations across East Africa.

    Addressing workers during a visit to the company’s Nairobi facility on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Apostle Nyamekye stressed that sustainable corporate and national development depends not only on natural resources but also on disciplined work ethics, effective governance systems, and quality human capital.

    According to him, countries that have attained prosperity did so through sound leadership and effective policies, adding that competence and moral integrity must remain central in recruitment and leadership decisions. He encouraged staff to remain committed to the vision of the company and work collectively toward the success of Zoomlion’s operations in Kenya and beyond.

    Apostle Nyamekye noted that organisations that combine professionalism with integrity are better positioned for long-term relevance and sustainable growth. The visit formed part of engagements following Zoomlion’s recent entry into Kenya’s waste management sector.

    Also present during the visit were Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong and other management members of the Jospong Group who had participated in the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi from May 11 to 12, 2026.

    Highlighting the global reach of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nyamekye disclosed that the church currently operates in 211 nations and territories worldwide. He said the church’s international growth demonstrates what institutions can achieve when they remain focused on clear principles and mission-driven leadership.

    Reflecting on his long-standing relationship with Dr. Siaw Agyepong, dating back to the 1990s, Apostle Nyamekye recounted witnessing the modest beginnings of Zoomlion in Ghana, including the commissioning of one of the company’s early facilities. He expressed appreciation for the company’s transformation from a small sanitation enterprise into a major force in Africa’s environmental management sector.

    Referencing Joshua 1:3, he encouraged employees to approach their assignment in Kenya with purpose and determination, saying, “When you set your foot at a place, possess it.”

    Providing an operational update, Dr Peter Dagadu said the company has made significant progress within four months of commencing operations in Nairobi. According to him, Zoomlion is collaborating with city authorities to implement an integrated waste management system aimed at improving sanitation and public health outcomes.

    He disclosed that Nairobi previously had about 409 illegal dump sites, many of which are currently being cleared as part of the company’s intervention. He explained that Zoomlion has upgraded access roads and reorganised operations to support round-the-clock waste handling and transportation to designated disposal sites.

    Dr. Dagadu further revealed that the disposal site, which previously handled about 100 tonnes of waste daily, now processes more than 832 tonnes weekly. He added that the company is targeting the clearance of all identified illegal dump sites within 90 days.

    In his remarks, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong attributed Zoomlion’s expansion into Kenya and other African countries to strategic leadership and divine guidance. He stated that the company’s recent participation in international summits and engagements with African leaders has created new opportunities for growth across the continent.

    He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable environmental solutions that support cleaner cities and improved public health outcomes throughout Africa.

    The visit concluded with prayers and thanksgiving songs as management and staff expressed optimism about Zoomlion’s growth prospects in Kenya and its broader continental expansion agenda.

  • Kimpton Trust Targets GHS1 Billion in Assets as It Charts Next Phase of Growth

    The Managing Director of Kimpton Trust Ghana Limited has outlined an ambitious roadmap for the company’s future, setting a target to grow its assets under management to GHS1 billion over the medium to long term.

    Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM),on March 24, 2026, he indicated that this milestone will be driven by a clear set of strategic priorities, in Accra, including strengthening cybersecurity and scalability, investing in employee development and continuous professional training, advancing product innovation, delivering superior customer service, and upholding strong corporate governance anchored in disciplined risk management and ethical leadership.

    He described the AGM as a critical platform for reviewing the company’s progress and refining its strategic direction. Reflecting on KTL’s journey, he noted that about a decade ago, the company’s assets were below GHS1 million as it worked to establish institutional capacity and build market presence. Today, KTL manages over GHS400 million in assets, a growth he attributed to disciplined leadership, consistency, and the trust of stakeholders.

    The Managing Director emphasized that the company’s operations are guided by its tagline, “Your Future is Bright,” which underscores its commitment to ensuring financial security and confidence for all members. He added that KTL’s client portfolio has significantly strengthened since 2016, with private pensions demonstrating resilience despite industry challenges.

    He referenced key disruptions within the financial sector, including the financial sector clean-up that led to the revocation of 53 licenses, as well as the impact of the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP). Despite these challenges, he commended Pension Fund Managers for their sound judgment and acknowledged the role of the regulator in safeguarding pension assets.

    Highlighting the broader role of pension funds, the Managing Director noted that, beyond delivering competitive returns, pension schemes have a vital role to play in national development. He pointed to long-term investment opportunities in areas such as real estate, road infrastructure, and green projects, adding that there is increasing recognition among stakeholders of the importance of aligning investments with economic development goals.

    He further stressed the importance of professionalism, trust, and service excellence in sustaining growth and maintaining stakeholder confidence.

    The Managing Director also expressed appreciation to shareholders for their continued support, as well as to the National Pensions Regulatory Authority for its role in safeguarding pension funds. He acknowledged the contributions of the Board of Directors and Trustees, and key partners, including Nobus Technology, Sentinel Asset Managers, and Zenith Bank.

    He added that the company’s recent relocation from East Legon to Spintex reflects its continued growth and its commitment to positioning itself for sustained success in the years ahead.

  • Jospong Group  partners Vinfast to distribute Electric Vehicles in West Africa

    The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) has established a distribution partnership agreement with VinFast Auto in Vietnam to introduce VinFast’s innovative electric vehicles to the Ghanaian and West African markets.

    This agreement marks VinFast’s first entry into the African market, solidifying its status as a pioneer in the worldwide shift toward sustainable transportation. The partnership also  underscores VinFast’s resolute dedication to delivering eco-friendly and intelligent transportation solutions to customers worldwide, while simultaneously capitalizing on the immense potential of the African electric vehicle market.

    The Jospong Group of Companies, under this collaboration will undertake the distribution of VinFast’s diverse range of vehicles, encompassing electric cars, e-scooters, e-bikes, and electric buses, across Ghana and West Africa.   • Apex COO commends Jospong Employees at the Launch of Jospong Employee Month

    The Chief Operating Officer of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Samanjith Udumalaga has commended the employees of Jospong for their hard work and dedication which has pushed the Group forward.

    Dr. Udumalagala was speaking at the launch of the 2023 Jospong Employee Month,” an annual event held to celebrate the teeming employees of the conglomerate with over 60 companies. The 2023 event was themed, “Improving the lives of our people.” 

    Dr. Udumalagala urged all employees to take advantage of the learning environment of the Group to better themselves.

    The Guest Speaker for the event, Wing Commander Samuel J. A Allotey urged business leaders to respect their subordinates saying, “Don’t bring people’s spirits down, don’t slow down their hope, don’t make the problem bigger that it is.”

    Throwing more light on the values of the Jospong Group, Wing Commander Allotey urged business leaders to provide a helping hand to their employees, create a conducive atmosphere, and regulate themselves to avoid disciplinary issues.

    “Don’t wait for policies procedures and employee manual before you understand issues, regulate yourself in the workplace.” He said.

    Wing Commander Allotey who is also a Board member of the Technical Logistics Cluster  of the Group also warned of the workplace becoming a hub for polarization. “It is not about tribe or party, those are transient,” he said.

    He urged the leadership of the Group to motivate their teams and focus on people issues, saying people issues are key. “

    Wing Commander Allotey said usually companies look out for operations and finance reports leaving people issues unattended to. He said people issues should be part of the main reports in any management review meetings.

    In a speech read on his behalf, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong said the theme for this year’s employee month celebration which is “Improving the Lives of our People,” comes at a time when the Group is building the capacity of employees both home and abroad.

    “This is to help equip employees to play multiple roles or acquire new skills even in a technology advancing world of work which is changing greatly the way organisations must run in order to succeed,” he said  adding, “As a Group we also have the welfare of our people at heart and although we may not have been able to resolve all of our people issues across various subsidiaries, we want you to understand that we have your interests at heart and will do anything to help improve upon the lives of our employees and that of their families. “

    Dr. Agyepong also congratulated employees for also always bringing new ideas to the table especially at the Jospong annual leadership conferences.

    Cluster Chief Operating Officers including Mrs. Dora Yeboah Boateng of the Commercial and Allied Services(CAS) and Mr. Haider Said, Executive Director of the Processing Cluster of Environment and Sanitation Group gave solidarity messages.

    The Chief Human Capital of the Jospong Group Mrs. Akwelley Adoley Bulley-Kwaakyi paid glowing tribute to the employees. She announced three new benefit packages which included a Hire Purchase Programme with Electroland Company, Employee Assistance Programme(EAP) and a Mentorship programme.

    The Jospong Group was honored to host Dr. Somthai Wongcharoen, President of Wongpanit and the Thailand delegation during their recent visit to Ghana. Their visit was a testament to the strong relationship between our two companies and we are grateful for their interest in learning more about our operations in the waste management space .

    We were especially impressed by Dr. Somthai’s expertise in waste management and his commitment to sustainability. During his visit, he shared his knowledge and best practices with our officials and leaders, highlighting the importance of reusing waste and promoting recycling.

    Dr. Somthai and the delegation also took the time to visit some of our subsidiaries, including JA Plant Pool, SSGL, IRECOP, ACARP, Waste Landfill, KCARP, and UPPR.

  • Dredge Masters MD Inducted Into Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame.

    The Managing Director (MD) of Dredge Masters Limited (DML), Captain Ansar Ahmed Khan, has been inducted into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame Awards 2022 at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.

    He was presented with a plaque in recognition of his induction into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame.

    The induction of the MD of DML into the Hall Fame is in recognition of his significant contribution to especially Ghana’s environmental sanitation space.

    The awards which were organised by The Business Executive on Friday, March 4, 2022, and it was graced by top CEOs, chairmen and chairpersons.

    The Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame is a flagship forum of top-tier executives conceptualised as a grouping of selected current and former chairmen and chairpersons, and overall top CEOs in Ghana’s business sectors who individually and collectively contribute to the growth of corporate Ghana.

    Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the ceremony, Captain Khan thanked the organisers for the honour done him, and edicated the award to his family, Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) and his staff members.

    The elated MD of DML used the occasion to express appreciation to JGC for what he described as their “immense support” to the dredge society.

    Earlier, in a welcome address, the Chairman of Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame, Mr. Kwasi Abeasi, who was a former Board Chairman of Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), said the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame Awards recognises and celebrates the professional accomplishments of outstanding chairmen, chairpersons and distinguished CEOs of the corporate community.

  • Hungarian President visits Kumasi Wastewater Treatment Plant and signs MoU

    As part of his State visit to Ghana, the President of Hungary, H.E. János Áder on Saturday, January 15, 2022, toured the Kumasi Wastewater Treatment Plant (KWTP) at Adagya in the Ashanti Region.

    President Áder was in the company of his wife, the First Lady of Hungary, Her Excellency Anita Herzcheq.

    The Hungarian President and his delegation who also included the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, Tamas Endre Feher, and the Managing Director (MD) of Pureco Kft, Mr Balint, were conducted around the facility by Dr Siaw Agyepong, together with the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Mrs Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei Mensah.

    The 1,000 cubic per day KWTP, a collaboration between Pureco Kft, a Hungarian private sector wastewater technology leader, and JGC, was commissioned in 2021.

    The plant has the capacity to serve over two (2) million people in the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area in the Ashanti Region.

    It equally has the capacity to receive and treat 150 cesspit tanks of liquid waste trucks on a daily basis.

    Significantly, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between JGC and Pureco Kft, as part of plans to replicate the wastewater treatment facility across the country.

    The Executive Chairman of JGC, Dr Siaw Agyepong, signed for his group, while the MD of Pureco Kft, Mr Balint, signed for his company, which was witnessed by Mrs Dapaah and Hungary’s Ambassador to Ghana.

    In his welcome address, Dr Siaw Agyepong described the Hungarian President’s visit to the plant as historic.

    “Today marks a great milestone in Ghana-Hungary relationship as the Jospong Group of Companies has an opportunity, to welcome, His Excellency the President of Hungary, Mr. János Áder, who is on a State visit to Ghana, accompanied by his wife and an official delegation to the Kumasi Waste Water Treatment Plant”, he gladly expressed.

    According to him, the strengthened business relationship between Ghana and Hungary has brought loads of benefits to the private sector of both countries, “especially after the visit to Ghana in 2017 by the Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister of Hungary, Mr. Péter Szijjártó.”

    “The Jospong Group of Companies took advantage of the new investment opportunity, opened between Ghana and Hungary, after Mr. Péter Szijjártó’s visit, to initiate a number of private sector business consultations with Hungarian Private Sector companies. In the course of our deliberations, we established key partnerships with Pureco Kft, ANY Security Printing Plc and the Hungarian Exim Bank”, he indicated.

    That, he added, was with the view of creating business opportunities that will help improve the lives of Ghanaians.

    “Mr. President, the outcome of one such technical consultation was the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between Pureco Kft and Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the construction of the Kumasi Waste Water Treatment Plant. The plant, which Your Excellency is visiting today, was constructed by Pureco-Unit Consortium, a Hungarian private sector water and wastewater technology leader. It is the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa”, he said.

    Dr Siaw Agyepong gave the assurance that his outfit and its partners will ensure the remaining regions benefit from the project, adding that JGC has already commenced discussions to conclude an MoU with Pureco.

    “This is to enable the remaining 13 regions of Ghana, which have no access to waste water treatment plants, also to benefit from similar projects under Pureco-Jospong collaboration”, he stressed.

    While heaping praise on the Akufo-Addo government for creating an enabling environment for players in the waste management space, Dr Siaw Agyepong commended President Áder for deepening Hungary’s relationship with Ghana.

    “Your Excellency President János Áder, permit me to seize this opportunity to also thank you personally and your Hungarian Government for making available to the Jospong Group of Companies a Hungarian Government Exim facility to construct the plants”, he said.

    Earlier, the President of Hungary paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at his Manhyia .

  • Jospong Group secures 50 million Euro contract from Hungary government

    Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong has secured and signed a contract worth 50 million Euros with the Hungary Government.

    The signing ceremony which took place on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the Embassy of Hungary in Accra was an agreement which would seek to construct wastewater treatment in Takoradi in the Western Region and Tamale in the Northern Region with the first in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region which is near completion.

    The project is being funded by the Exim Bank of Hungary.

    Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the signing ceremony at the Hungary Embassy in Accra, Dr. Agyepong said the projects are expected to be completed within fifteen months.

    Apart from the Kumasi waste treatment plant which according to Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong was near completion, the other two which were yet to commence would be completed within schedule considering the urgency of the need of the plants for the treatment of liquid waste.

    He noted that the vision of creating the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources was a laudable one which would facilitate the making of Ghana the cleanest country in Africa.

    “…The country is being blessed with the relationship between Ghana and Hungary with the initiatives aimed at solving the sanitation challenges of the country”, Dr. Agyepong noted.

    The Hungarian Ambassador, András Szabó noted that the Ghana-Hungarian relationship dated some five years ago, so it was not without reason that the relationship has yielded this remarkable feat.

    He said that the construction of the waste treatment plant means Ghana was in the process of achieving SDG goal 6.

    They prayed that the relationship would grow bigger yielding greater gain going forward.

    The Director of Sanitation, Ing. Anthony Mensah of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources who represented the sector Minister-designate, Cecilia Abena Daapa indicated that the ministry would ensure that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision of a cleaner Ghana is achieved in due course.
